Welcome to Dragonfly Trace SCUBA! I’m Connie Maxwell, and I’m excited to share my passion for diving with you. As a Connie Maxwell Scuba Instructor, my mission is to provide safe, enjoyable, and professional scuba training for divers of all experience levels.
My journey into the underwater world began in 1965, when my father, renowned diving pioneer Matt Leydens, introduced me to SCUBA diving. I earned my certification at just 12 years old in 1972, and since then, diving has been more than a hobby—it’s been a lifelong passion and career.
With over 30 years of professional experience, I’ve had the privilege of training divers at every stage of their journey, from first-time students taking their very first breaths underwater to experienced divers pursuing professional instructor certifications. As a Connie Maxwell Scuba Instructor, my greatest reward is helping others develop the skills, confidence, and knowledge they need to dive safely and comfortably.
At Dragonfly Trace SCUBA, I believe learning should be enjoyable, supportive, and personalized. Whether you’re discovering the underwater world for the first time, refreshing your diving skills, or working toward becoming a dive professional, I’m committed to providing high-quality instruction in a welcoming environment where every diver can succeed.
As an SEI Instructor Trainer,and DAN Instructor, I am dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of diver education and safety. I continue to support the diving community through Scuba Educators International (SEI), professional development, and industry events such as SEI at DEMA 2025.
